Pope's Poem
|
The following poem was written by Pope John Paul when he was 19, many years before be
became the Pope. I read about his many writtings after he had passed over. This poem seems to
fit for many of us who have lost our Mothers, especially on Mother's Day. I am not Catholic but
Pope John Paul seemed to be a really good man who stuck by what he believed. This poem shows how
deeply he could feel about many things, the man did care. |
Over This, Your White Grave
Over this, your white grave
the flowers of life in white--
so many years without you--
how many have passed out of sight?
|
Over this your white grave
covered for years, there is a stir
in the air, something uplifting
like death, beyond comprehension.
|
Over this your white grave
oh, Mother, can such loving cease?
for all his filial adoration a prayer:
Give her eternal peace--
