I wonder what she thought
As she stood there, strong and tall.
She couldn't turn away,
She was forced to watch it all.

Did she long to offer comfort
As her country bled?
With her arm forever frozen
High above her head.

She could not shield her eyes
She could not hide her face
She just stared across the water
Keeping Freedom's place.

The smell of smoke and terror
Somehow reduced her size
So small within the harbor
But still we recognized...

How dignified and beautiful
On a day so many died

stairs of the burning building,

As we lit candles of waiting and hope,

As the firefighters and police officers
fought their way into the inferno,

As we fell to our knees
in prayer for strength,

As we whispered or shouted
words of encouragement,
We spoke one language.

As we gave our blood in lines a mile long,

As we mourned together the great loss,

As we cried tears of grief and loss,

THERE WERE 4 PASSENGER JETS INVOLVED THAT HORRIBLE DAY AND MANY INNOCENT LIVES LOST. SO MUCH ATTENTION WAS GIVEN TO THE WORLD TRADE CENTER'S TERRORIST ATTACK, ONE ALMOST FORGETS ABOUT THE OTHER 2 JETS AND THE LIVES LOST.

OUR OWN PENTAGON ATTACKED AND IT IS UNKNOWN WHAT OTHER NATIONAL BUILDING WAS MEANT TO BE HIT BY THE PLANE THAT CRASHED INTO THE PA. FIELD. THE PASSENGERS THAT WERE ABLE TO CALL AND GIVE SOME INSIGHT INTO THE HORRORS THEY WERE FACING ON THOSE PLANES.

THE HEROES THAT STOPPED THE 4TH PLANE'S TERRORIST HIJACKERS FROM REACHING THEIR GOAL. IF ANYTHING GOOD CAME FROM THAT DAY IT WAS SEEING THE REST OF THE COUNTRY JOINING TOGETHER AND DOING WHAT THEY COULD TO HELP THE VICTIMS OF THE ATTACKS. NEVER BEFORE HAD AMERICA BEEN ATTACKED BY AN OUTSIDE SOURCE AND HOPEFULLY........NEVER AGAIN!!

 THIS PICTURE OF THE NEW YORK SKYLINE WAS TAKEN OF THE 30 DAY MEMORIAL GIVEN FOR THE WTC. I BELIEVE THIS WAS DONE AT THE 6TH MONTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE TERRORIST ATTACK. I SUPPOSE ONE REASON THERE IS MORE ACTIVITIES AND PICTURES RELATING TO THE ATTACKS IN N.Y. IS BECAUSE THE PENTAGON IS A GOVERNMENT BUILDING AND HIGHER SECURITY RELATING TO IT. PLUS AFTER REPAIRS IT IS STILL STANDING AND USUABLE. NOT THAT A PERSON'S HEART DOESN'T GO OUT TO THE ONES THAT LOST THEIR LIVES IN PA. IT IS STILL HARDER TO RECOGNIZE AN OPEN FIELD. I COULDN'T FIND ANY PICTURES OF ANY MEMORIALS THAT MAY BE STANDING THERE. NO LESS IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SINCE THE ATTACKS OCCURRED BUT THE PEOPLE THAT LOST THEIR LIVES IN ALL 3 PLACES-HAVE NOT BEEN FORGOTTEN.
